The 3rd Azarbaijan gas transmission pipeline which is 740 km long and worth 8,000 billion rials was officially inaugurated on Sunday, August 24, 2008 to increase gas supply to the west and northwest of the country and solve existing problems. The inauguration was held through a ceremony attended by minister of petroleum, Gholamhossein Nozari, Seyed Reza Kasaeizadeh, deputy minister of petroleum and managing director of the National Iranian Gas Company, and Mr. Gharibi, managing director of the Gas Engineering and Development Company.
The ceremony was also attended by some Majlis deputies, members of board of directors of the National Iranian Gas Company and the Gas Engineering and Development Company, as well as other officials from the National Iranian Gas Company’s affiliated companies and media crew. At the end of the ceremony, those involved in the project were praised and the ceremony was followed by a press conference attended by Kasaeizadeh, deputy minister of petroleum and the managing director of the National Iranian Gas Company.
