BIM Process Implemented

The infrastructure facilities division of Iranian Gas Engineering and Development Company (IGEDC) has implemented the building information modelling (BMI) process in the Khonj satellite rest camp in order to reduce interference in various disciplines while boosting the precision of estimation and metering.
Following achievement of this breakthrough, the second forum was held on sharing successful experience. Alireza Aqbas from the infrastructure division organized the forum on BIM.
Earlier, technicians working on the Iran Gas Trunkline-9 (IGAT-9) had achieved success in optimizing project scheduling using lean construction techniques.
BMI is a process involving the generation and management of digital representations of the physical and functional characteristics of places.
Like REVIT, BMI introduces all geometrical and physical properties of an element so that all outputs would be based on the same modelling.
BIM software is used by individuals, businesses and government agencies who plan, design, construct, operate and maintain buildings and diverse physical infrastructures, such as water, refuse, electricity, gas, communication utilities, roads, railways, bridges, ports and tunnels.
