Research and Executive Affairs Should Be Related

Mr. Hassan Ahmadi was in 1970 and is a graduate of power engineering from Kashan University of Technology. He was employed by the National Iranian Gas Company in 1993 and worked for three years as senior power technician on Fajr gas refinery project helping specialists from South Korea. Since 1996, he has been in charge of power installations and gas condensate measurement station of Bandar Taheri. He has worked in various capacities. He took a long stride by presenting a research project to Information and Communication Technology Department of the company which was accepted and put on the website of the Gas Engineering and Development Company in 2009.

As for his track record in the gas company, Mr. Ahmadi said, “I have worked as power supervisor in many projects like 48” Zanjan – Miyaneh pipeline, 48” Marand pipeline, 10” Miyandoab – Naqadeh – Urmia pipeline and so on. I formulated sample documents for one-article EPC contracts for the first time in history of the Iranian oil and gas industry and presented it to the Gas Engineering and Development Company. In 2008, I took charge of the archives of gas transmission pipeline designs. I worked out a system for archives and technical documents as well as tender bid documents without extra cost. The system was welcomed for the fifth and sixth trunkline projects and concerned officials called for the documentation of the projects in the system.”

He considers speed in implementing projects as the most important advantage of the system and added, “In this kind of archives letters are not copied and security of letters and documents are protected. Also, all technical and tender bid documents are stored in single archives to increase speed of answering to requests of audits and inspectors.”

Mr. Ahmadi, who has recently taken charge of scientific and research department of Basij, noted, “After accepting this responsibility, I decided to establish a think tank in the company because it not only promotes the culture of research and development in gas industry, but also has the following advantages:

• Providing grounds for creativity;
• Identification of innovative and creative employees;
• Creating a good atmosphere to inform managers about viewpoints of their subordinates;
• To send research findings of researching employees to company managers;
• To establish a link between the company and universities and other research centers in the country;
• To institutionalize the culture of thinking and teamwork in order to achieve continued improvement in the company;
• To inspect research centers related to gas industry and hold conferences and seminars for personnel.”

He opined that putting plans for correction of consumption into force should be based on manpower resources and said, “Priority should be given to infrastructural plans. Those who propose such plans should be consulted in person and if their plans were logical, they should take charge of implementing them in order to pave the way for encouragement of creative employees. For example, good plans for correcting consumption pattern in energy sectors, especially in oil, gas and petrochemical industries, have been put on the website of the Gas Engineering and Development Company which can be implemented by personnel of the company and I am ready to volunteer for this purpose.”

He maintains that there are many aspects to human beings, adding, “Humans can succeed in many situations and fields and if it were not so, there would be no pleasure in life. A way to keep one lively is to exercise and do various sports and I have never neglected this. Therefore, I have accepted to be secretary of the men’s shooting board of the company. Thus far, we have 80 employees as members and they take part in various competitions every year.”

In conclusion, Mr. Ahmadi thanked managers and officials of the Gas Engineering and Development Company and stated that, “Due to special attitude of Mr. Gharibi, the managing director of Gas Engineering and Development Company, and his attention to research, I am doing my best to implement research projects and hope that company managers will cooperate with me in this regard.”
