Mr. Gharibi Inspects 2nd Phase of Dowlatabad Gas Pipeline Project

According to a report issued by the Public Relations Department, Mr. Gharibi, the managing director of Gas Engineering and Development Company, accompanied by project manager and accompanying delegation inspected the second phase of Dowlatabad gas pipeline project (from Shahid Hasheminejad refinery to Sangbast) on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 and Tuesday, April 27, 2010.

The second phase of the project starts from Shahid Hasheminejad gas treatment facility and ends in Sangbast near the city of Mashhad over 120 km at a diameter of 48 inches.

According to Mr. Gharibi, the needed pipes for the project have been supplied by Gas Engineering and Development Company and the project is being implemented by a consortium comprising Jihad Misaq Nasr of Ahvaz and Jihad Nasr of Kerman.

At present, more than 60 km of the pipeline has been constructed and more than 40 km has been welded.

It should be noted that construction of the pipeline at Mazdavand region, which is mountainous and hard to pass, is very difficult and about 4 km at the end of the path is also made up of very hard stone and needs explosion operations to open the way.

Mr. Gharibi stated that due to importance of the pipeline, machinery and working shifts have been increased in order to implement the project in the shortest possible time.

The first phase of the project was done over 35 km late last Iranian year (ended March 21, 2010) in 10 days and was inaugurated through an official ceremony which was attended by the presidents of Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
