interview with engineer merati

Co-Thinking and Multiple, Constant Meetings Best Solution to Create Motivations

We requested Mr Merati to give a brief explanation on the plan for gas compressor stations.

He said:

Designing and construction of gas compressor stations in the entire National Iranian Gas Company, on different 56" and 48", is the undertaking of this project.

The pressure of the gas transfer in gas pipelines would decline due to friction and distance and should therefore be added in one way or the other. This would be provided through establishment of gas compressor stations in places which have been designed as a result of expert studies.

On plans under implementation, Merati said:

Approximately we have between70 to 80 stations at the National Iranian Gas Company that are currently being constructed on the fourth and eighth nationwide trunk lines, including Kheirgoo, Khonj, Jahrom, Khavaran, Arsanjan, and Safa Shahr. Along with this and on the eighth nationwide pipelines there are Dehshir, Nadoushan, Ardestan and Kashan which are connected to the fifth nationwide pipeline near Qom.

Over Azarbaijan’s second 48” pipeline which runs from Saveh towards south of Lake Urmia as one of the most important stations, Saveh gas compressor station, has been put into operation recently. Meanwhile, Hamedan, Bijar and Takab are the stations under construction.

Over one of the 48” gas transfer pipelines in eastern part of the country which runs from Parchin towards Sang Bast and Khangiran gas refinery, three stations of Parchin, Semnan and Dasht are under construction.

On the fourth pipeline the two Pol Kalleh and Dahaq gas compressor stations are under implementation.

Elaborating on future projects of this plan he said:

Currently the most important project is supply of compressors of this station for which we have a contract for 50 compressors of which about 46 have been supplied and put into operation and the other four are near completion. We have two more contracts for 100 pieces.

He divided problems of the plan for gas compressor stations into two groups and said:

The first problem which has been removed to some extent was technical and has been greatly eliminated as the projects have been offered to the contractors. The second group of problems pertain to supply of liquidity which has placed the most difficult problems on the implementation of projects this year.

The official in charge of execution of installations of gas compressors in the conclusion expressed appreciation for the good relationship between the staff and experts of the plan and termed co-thinking and holding multiple meetings as the best solution for creating motivations and effective interaction among the personnel.
