Iranian Minister of Petroleum Javad Owji issued a decree appointing Majid Ghegeni as his deputy for gas affairs and the CEO of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC).

In the decree, Mr. Owji tasked Chegeni with a number of matter including:

Ensuring maximum and optimal natural gas supply required by the domestic, power plants, industries, etc. sectors;

Performing effective measures in order to process and transfer maximum gas to consumers;

Adopting policies to reduce energy intensity and optimize gas consumption in the domestic, commercial, administrative and industrial sectors;

Developing infrastructure plans and projects and pay serious attention to the completion and timely delivery of current projects.
