Inauguration of the 6th gas trunk line

According to Public Relations Department, the sixth gas trunk line was officially inaugurated on Saturday, December 27, 2008, in a ceremony attended by Minister of Petroleum Gholamhossein Nozari; Ramezani, deputy minister and managing director of the National Iranian Gas Company; Gharibi, managing director of the Gas Engineering and Development Company and other guests. Operations along the line had been already started on October 9, 2008.
The 56” gas pipeline is capable of daily transmission of 110 million cu. m. of gas and means to take sweet gas from phases 9 and 10 of South Pars gas field in Assaluyeh to Bidboland gas refinery. It passes through Bushehr provincial cities such as Kangan, Khormoj, Borazjan, Bushehr, Deilam, and Genaveh to end in Sardasht city in Khuzestan province when it will be connected to the 1st trunk line at the site of Bidboland 1 refinery.
The line is 492 km long and has 4 pig sending and receiving stations, 17 valves along the way and 11 cathodic protection stations. It has cost about 7,000 billion rials. Construction operations started in the second half of 2005 and ended in July 2008.
The inaugural ceremony, which was held at the conference hall of South Pars Special Economic Zone, was attended by members of board of directors of the National Iranian Gas Company and the Gas Engineering and Development Company; Mr. Osouli, head of Ministry of Petroleum’s security; Dr. Razavi, managing director of South Pars Special Economic Zone; Dr. Vakili, managing director of Pars Oil and Gas Company; and Saremi, managing director of South Pars Gas Refining Complex. At the end of the ceremony, the efforts of those who worked as project managers, consultants and contractors were lauded.
