With the help of Folad Mobarakeh Esfahan, Folad Auxin Ahvaz and with the cooperation of Iran Gas Engineering and Development Company, API5L X80 plate was made for the first time in the country.

According to the public relations report; Mr. Reza Noshadi, Chairman and CEO of Iran Gas Engineering and Development Company, said in an important and strategic event in the presence of managers and specialists of National Iranian Gas Company, Folad Auxin Ahwaz, and Folad Mobarakeh Esfahan “ experimental production of X80 plates was successful and after final approvals this type of plate will be used in oil and gas resources. With the localization of this technology, the Islamic Republic of Iran will be among the few countries that produce these plates. X80 plate, despite losing weight due to less carbon and high manganese, have much higher strength, therefore, while saving steel consumption, it has increased the life of the pipeline and the pipeline requires lesser sanctity due to the increased resistance of the pipeline.”

He also added: “With this alloy, the cost of making X80 pipelines will be about 30% less than X60 pipelines, and the pipelines with less weight will withstand more pressure.”
