Injection of Shahroud – Meiamei extension gas to 2nd north and northeast pipeline

The pipeline will continue for 800 km with a diameter of 48 inches from Parchin to Sangbast (near Mashhad) and sends out a 42”, 105-km branch from Meiamei to Dasht which is meant to compensate for gas shortage in Semnan and Golestan provinces.
It should be noted that the second north and northeast gas pipeline has been connected to the gas-filled pipeline which exists in the region at the 105th km of Parchin –Semnan extension. By injecting gas into Semnan–Shahroud (170 km), Shahroud– Meiamei (75 km) and Meiamei–Dasht (107 km) extensions and connecting the end of Meiamei–Dasht extension to 30” Sarakhs–Neka pipeline, measures have been taken to remove gas shortage in Semnan and Golestan provinces.
At present, construction of 105 km Parchin–Semnan extension is important for completion of construction of the 2nd north and northeast pipeline and its connection to the 5th Tehran pipeline as the main source of gas for the line. In view of the existing projects and follow-ups, all pipes needed for the project have been procured.
The relevant contractor has mobilized a number of working groups to speed up construction and, thus far, all welding for 42 km of the line has been finished and in view of the progress rate, construction of this section of the line is hoped to be finished in the near future.
