Inauguration of Gas Pipeline Project to Iranian Zarand Steel Industries & Zarand Power Plant

The gas pipeline project to Zarand Iranian Steel Industries and Power Plant was inaugurated by the order of Javad Oji, Minister of Petroleum on 6 Shahrivar.
Farhad Hassani, the executive of the 10th Iran Gas Trunk-line in this inauguration, which was held at the opening of this project in Zarand, Kerman, considered the operation of this project to strengthen the gas supply to the steel industry and Zarand power plant in Kerman province and stated: With the construction of the gas pipeline project, the steel industry and Zarand power plant will benefit from sufficient and required feed and can increase their production.
He added: Therefore, the implementation of this project is an effective step in supporting development and employment in this region.
In explaining the background of this project, Hassani said: After the first phase of this project was successfully completed with the aim of providing the required feed for Butiai Iranian steel complex through a 40 km long pipeline, the implementation of the second phase for gas supply to another steel industry and Zarand power plant with a length of 37 kilometers was put on the agenda and after the completion and approval of the basic and detailed design and the tendering process to select a contractor and consultant, the project entered the implementation phase.
The executive of the 10th Iran Gas Trunk-line project continued: This 37-kilometer project is one of the projects that were completed according to the one-year schedule that was specified in the contract and due to the many obstacles that existed in the implementation, before the scheduled date and within 7 months, it has been completely implemented and gas injection has been put into operation.
He explained about the implementation of a CGS station at the end of the 30-inch pipeline and said: At the end of this pipeline and at the entrance of Zarand Steel Factory, a CGS station with a capacity of 50,000 cubic meters per hour has been designed, installed and commissioned.
Referring to the tireless efforts of the executives and those involved in the 30-inch pipeline project of Zarand Steel Industries, Hassani said: The efforts of the contractor's executives and the experts of the workshop monitoring system of the consulting engineers made the project not affected by the increase in prices and by performing the welding and insulation operations on time, as well as the arrangements that were made for the timely payment of the amounts to the opponents, the slowness of the work will be prevented.
