On January 14, 2009, the segment of north and northeast pipeline between Parchin and Semnan was inspected by Mr. Abdollahi, governor general of Semnan, his deputy, Mr. Haqiqat Hosseini, the managing director of Semnan Province Gas Company and the accompanying delegation.
During the visit, which was also attended by Mr. Gharibi, the managing director of the Gas Engineering and Development Company and Mr. Sahba, official in charge of gas pipelines project and a number of company officials, necessary information was provided by project officials.
The project has been underway by Tehran Jonoub Company as the main contractor and due to its importance plans have been made to speed it up. The contactor has provided necessary equipment and the project is going on at considerable speed. It will be connected to the fifth Tehran pipeline in the next few days.
It should be noted that 65 km of the line has been injected with gas in past December and out of the remaining 105 km, 80 km has been welded which is a new record for gas pipelines.
When the line is filled with gas and connected to high-pressure gas pipelines, it will provide needed gas to Semnan, Mazandaran and Golestan provinces in wintertime with no need to import gas.
When this segment becomes operational, a total of 425 km of north and northeast gas pipeline with a diameter of 48 inches and 105 km of 42” pipeline from Meiamei to Dasht will become fully operational.
