News Code: 76Inauguration of north and northeast pipeline in presence of the president and minister of petroleum The first phase of the biggest gas pipeline to the north and northeast of the country was officially inaugurated on Wednesday May 20, 2009, in a ceremony attended by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Minister of Petroleum Gholamhossein Nozari, a group of provincial officials, top gas industry managers, project managers, experts, consultants, and contactors of the said pipeline.The ceremony began by reciting verses from the Holy Quran and then, Mr. Gharibi, the managing director of the Gas Engineering and Development Company welcomed the guests and explained about the huge project. Then, Mr. Nozari delivered a short speech in which he lauded the hard work of the company staff and called on President Ahmadinejad to address the audience. President Ahmadinejad emphasized on implementation of projects by the Iranian manpower and thanked all those who were involved in this huge, national project.
