According to the Public Relations Department, Mr. Gharibi, the managing director of the Gas Engineering and Development Company, accompanied by some members of Board of Directors and officials in charge of various projects, inspected the 8th gas trunk line and Saveh 2 gas compression station on August 10-11, 2009.

The 8th gas trunk line project has been divided in two pieces and each piece has been given to a contractor. The first piece, which runs from Naein to Badroud is 131 km long and underway by Ahvaz Jahad Nasr Misaq while the second piece running from Badroud to 5th Tehran gas transmission pipeline is also 131 km and has been given to Payandan Company with Astera Company as consultant.

After inspecting the pipeline, Mr. Gharibi met with project manager, Mr. Kavianpour, contractors and consultants to hear a report on the latest activities on the project and related problems and proposed ways for speeding up the project.

He also made decisions to solve problems and emphasized that the project should be finished before the beginning of the cold season.

On the second day, Mr. Gharibi and the accompanying delegation inspected Saveh 2 gas compression station which is being built to maintain gas pressure along the first and second gas trunk lines according to 3+3+1 arrangement.

He visited the control room, warehouses, installations, turbo-compressors, gas cooling systems and other parts. He then met with Mr. Mer’ati, project manager, as well as contactor and consultant of the project and was updated on the latest situation of the project, necessary commodities, and problems arising from low funds and offered solutions for the problems.
