IGEDC Lauded for Pioneering Role

TEHRAN (IGEDC) - The annual general meeting of the Iranian Gas Engineering and Development Company (IGEDC) took place today, July 8, 2024, at the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) conference hall. The event was attended by Majid Chegeni, Deputy Minister of Petroleum and Managing Director of NIGC, alongside members of the general assembly, the CEO of IGEDC, the chairman, and the board of directors. 
In his opening remarks, Majid Chegeni underscored the pivotal role IGEDC plays within Iran's gas industry. 
"I extend my heartfelt gratitude for the relentless efforts of all staff members over the years, particularly since the revolution and especially in the past three years under the 13th administration. Their tireless and jihad-like work has brought pride to our country in the gas sector. IGEDC is not only a leader in the oil industry but is also among the top companies nationwide. This achievement is a testament to its competent management and skilled workforce. Over the years, the company has consistently delivered excellent services and achieved significant milestones in various areas, including constructing transmission lines, pressure boosting stations, and refineries," said Chegeni.
Seyed Kazem Eshaghi Nia, Chairman of IGEDC, emphasized the company's commitment to public service. "The guiding principle and approach at IGEDC have always been to serve the people and the Islamic Republic of Iran. This belief has flourished within the company, affirming that the only path to ultimate success is through public service, to which we have dedicated all our efforts. Our mission is not only to advance the gas industry but to ensure that our progress benefits the citizens of this nation," Eshaghi Nia stated.
Reza Noshadi, CEO of IGEDC, presented a comprehensive report on the company's recent activities and strategic initiatives. "We have embarked on several significant projects in the past year, including the exploration and identification of new salt domes, which are crucial for expanding our storage capabilities. Additionally, we have initiated seven pilot projects for gas consumption smart metering, which represent a significant step towards enhancing energy efficiency and reducing wastage," Noshadi explained. 
He further elaborated on the national metering system project and the energy optimization efforts in gas pressure facilities. 
"Our national metering system, known as the metering national project, aims to standardize and improve gas measurement across the country. Concurrently, we have completed the basic design studies for optimizing energy use in gas pressure facilities, which will enhance operational efficiency and reduce environmental impact," Noshadi added.
In addressing human resources, Noshadi highlighted the company's attractiveness as a workplace. 
"Last year, we saw the retirement of 34 employees and the transfer of 24 personnel into our company. The caliber of talent we have attracted in the past 18 months underscores IGEDC as a desirable destination for professionals within NIGC and beyond. This influx of skilled personnel is a testament to our dynamic work environment and commitment to professional development," he noted.
Noshadi also reported on the company’s impressive safety record. "We are proud to have achieved 21 consecutive months without any incidents on ongoing projects, a milestone that is unprecedented in the past 12 years of IGEDC’s history. This record reflects our unwavering commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards in all our operations," he emphasized.
Seyed Mohammad Hossein Hosseini, CFO of NIGC, commended IGEDC’s achievements and potential. "IGEDC stands as the largest company in project execution within the gas industry, with a robust portfolio of completed and ongoing projects. This company not only has a strong domestic presence but also possesses the potential to operate at an international level. The wealth of experience and capabilities within IGEDC positions it as a key player on the global stage," Hosseini remarked.
Hossein Ali Mohammad Hosseini, Director of Integrated Planning and Advisor to the Deputy Minister of Oil, and Moslem Rahmani, Director of Gas Supply Coordination and NIGC Board Member, both praised the positive performance of IGEDC over the past year. They urged the company to continue its trajectory of growth and excellence, stressing the importance of sustaining these efforts for the benefit of the country.
During the meeting, assembly members engaged in a detailed discussion, posing questions regarding the presented report and exploring various facets of the company’s operations and future plans. This interactive session provided a platform for exchanging insights and fostering a collaborative approach to addressing challenges and seizing opportunities in the gas sector.
